By Hanfur Steelstrike  The Bramblebury Gazette can confirm that a Museum of Hunting and Fishing will open, close to Michel Delving. Friday revellers at the Green Dragon were surprised by an announcement by Fleuralis Nimbletoes, Secretary to the Shire Angling Club, who outlined plans to open the museum in July. We spoke with Ponso Pondhopper, fishmonger and a regular poet at the Green Dragon and now Chair of the Shire Angling Club. He confirmed that the plans to open the museum were now underway.  “We have been planning to open a museum and conservation centre for many months. More recently we have been in discussions with Andy Brockhouse to secure a large enough burrow for the Club’s collections.” Pondhopper told the Gazette. “We are looking at a couple of properties and hope to be completing the purchase in a week or two. The museum will be the clubhouse for the Angling Club and will host our collection of fishing and hunting trophies. More importantly, we are building a conservation centre. This will continue and expand the work I have done to breed catfish to restock the ponds in Michel Delving’s villages and neighbourhoods. This is essential if we are to create a sustainable supply of fish for our cooks.”

Asked where the museum will be located, Pondhopper was tight-lipped: “We haven’t yet decided on the location and until we have completed discussions with the Mayor’s Office I am sure you will understand I can’t give you any details. Watch this space!”

The museum will open its doors to the public on Saturday July 13th from 7:30 pm. There will be a guided tour of the museum, followed by fishing demonstrations, refreshments and a sale of rods and trophies. All are welcome.

The venue is now known: The Hunting and Fishing museum can be found at 2 Chalk Road in Harville.
