By Akelay Shrubland    Who let the shrews out?!      Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!  Who let the shrews out?!      Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!  Who let the shrews out?!      Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!  Who let the shrews out?!      Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!  (spoken)

A respected gardener lives near the party tree.

His name is known through the Shire, he's Gaffer Gamgee.

He lives a happy life, just one problem has he

Shrews running through his garden, and they are fast, whee!

(Sung)

One sunny day he found the solution

Large shrew traps that he equipped with cheese

That's his idea against shrew pollution

Dispensed them under the bushes and trees

Who let the shrews out?! ...

When a shrew came for the cheese

You heared a squeek and snap

The happy days for shrews were over

All were caught in Gaffer's traps

Every day he went checking traps then

Put the caught shrews into a large cage

One day coming home the cage door was open

Shrews running around, and he roared in rage:

Who let the shrews out?! ...

Shrews running everywhere, he could not believe it

Why were they running wild, and who was to blame for this?

Shrews in his pantry eating all his storage

Bacon and pies were gone, and sausages almost done

Through the bed, on the beautiful couch

On the table, and also there under the chairs

Shrews where free, everywhere

They were hunting themselves through the flowery pots

On the boards, in the bowls

And even up high on the mantlepiece

In his clothes, through his books

Angry he ranted and screamed and he shrieked:

Who let the shrews out?! ...

Some information about the artist

Miss Akelay was one of the first to move into Bramblebury and the longest-staying resident who always kept paying her upkeep! She is very famous for her catfish cakes and winner of the pie-baking competition of 2012.

Miss Akelay got the idea for this song when someone commented on the squeaky sound of the pibgorn. It was first performed by the Bramblebury-band-with-no-fixed-name at the base of a huge shrew statue in the garden of Miss Daysi at her burrow-warming party.
