The re-opening of the Shire Map and Cartography Centre (S.M.A.C.C.)

A few months ago a raging fire took heavily damaged the Shire Map and Cartography Centre in the Oldfurlong neighbourhood in the Shire. Most of the maps had been consumed in the inferno and Master Speckles had no other choice to close the S.M.A.C.C.

Because of the impact the closing of the S.M.A.C.C. had on the Hobbit community, Master Speckles decided to try and replace the burned maps, books and other exhibition pieces. He put on his travelling boots and left the Shire once again, in search of maps and exhibit pieces. To avoid questions from nosy Hobbits and maybe having to dissapoint them, Master Speckles stored all the recollected maps and pieces in a secret location during his travels.

Allthough some of the recovered maps needed restoration, the new collection started to grow into something that would give Master Speckles the opportunity to re-open the S.M.A.C.C.

Because the old location in Oldfurlong had been damaged to heavily, Master Speckles placed the order to the Hobbit excavators to dig a new burrow on a grand location in a quiet new neighbourhood. During nighttime all the exhibition pieces have been secretly moved to the newly dug burrow.

To avoid new accidents to the S.M.A.C.C while Master Speckles is on his travels abroad, a property guard will keep an eye out!

In other words, the Shire Map and Cartography Centre has re-opened its doors at 6 Chalkroad in the new neighbourhood of Elderglen!
