Date:    September 15th, 2012 Time:    1 PM /servertime - 6:00 PM BST

Location: The Mathom House

Event details:

The Mathom House is a treasury of the odd and the unique; the historic residence of Bannockbury Hall is no different. The founder of Bannockbury Hall Mathom Society, Adalbern Tookbanks, has arranged a captivating new public exhibition of some of the Society's most fascinating articles, grouped into a series of talks - the Mathom Lectures.

The lectures are suited both to the lover of story and the historian alike, with all peoples welcome to participate and to hopefully learn something interesting about all those forgotten little items that tend to change hands often!

OOC details:

Based on Bannockbury Hall Mathom Society's important monthly RP event, this public version takes place in Michel Delving's prestigious Mathom House. Here in the large upper hall between two to five mathoms (as time permits) will be displayed and a short talk given on them.

The mathoms are simply those curious and well-described items the developers have added in-game, given a unique lease of life with a brand-new story and history ready for you to enjoy in the atmosphere of the Mathom House! Also, how the Society may have come across them and their lineage might also be part of the telling.

As well as being an opportunity for people to get together and RP in a pleasant scholarly environment and a chance to hear a few brand-new stories of some possibly familiar old items, food and drink will be on hand afterwards downstairs at the dining table. If you have a song, story or poem you wish to share with us after the talks, please let me know and we can fit you in!

All races of the Free Peoples are very welcome to attend, though as this is mainly a hobbit event, if you do have a hobbit character you would like to bring instead that would also be encouraged. It is also encouraged to come properly dressed and without your baggage, shields and weapons.

Important Note: Access inside the Mathom House requires Acquaintance standing with the Mathom Society. This is easily obtainable by completing quests in the Shire for Gift Mathoms. Should you struggle to get in, please contact Adalbern in-game before the event as mathoms are on-hand to help raise people's standing sufficiently.
