Post date: Mar 15, 2011 10:40:7 AM

Where: Brockenborings, near the Bullroarer's statue  When:  March 17th, 8:30pm ((servertime))  What:   the Greenbrambles wil play dancemusic and a few songs and ballads.  Each year on March 17th, hobbits celebrate the victory of the Battle of the Greenfields and show their tribute to that great hero Bandobras Took and to those unnamed heroes that lost their lives in battle. For those who don't know their Shire History, Bandobras "Bullroarer" Took led the Hobbits at the Battle of Greenfields when goblins from Mount Gram, led by their Chieftain, Golfimbul, invaded the Northfarthing. During the battle, Bandobras defeated Golfimbul with a mighty blow that knocked off his head. Golfimbul's head flew through the air for 100 yards and dropped down a rabbit hole.

The centre of the festivities will ofcourse again be the town of Brockenborings and this year a new band calling themselves the Greenbrambles will provide you with plenty of music to dance on, old favorite tunes like jigs and reels, but also a few slower tunes to sway and swoon on.

All hobbits are cordially invited to come to this performance. And remember: one of the traditions of this day is "wearing the green", so tog yourselves up in your best green outfits!
