Storm rages on!

By Peppy Bristlebrush   It is a severe storm that is passing over all regions of Middle-Earth and at the time of writing this there is still no indication of when it will end. Damages caused by the storm are not yet to be calculated, but so far we had to miss out on a Spring lover's dance and a Green Dragon Friday meeting.  Luckily we are hobbits and our larders were well-stocked when the first gusts of strong wind hit the Shire. And as hobbits we keep our spirits up at all times, even hard ones, when the shelves of our stock-rooms are getting more empty then we are used to. We just think of that cold, cold winter long time in the past, when there was a famine and we think us lucky that it is only a storm.

What do we hobbits do when cooped up unvoluntarily for an extended time? I can only speak for myself, ofcourse: I usually have some musical notes to scribble on paper, preparing the progam for Bullroarer Took Day's concert. I read some books to keep my mind of the storm. But above all, I miss my friends, my neighbours, my young niece.

What are you all doing, dear readers of the Gazette? What do you do when sitting out the storm? Would it not be nice to let us know? Send a letter if you like to the Bramblebury Gazette, telling us about how you cope. Give words of comfort to your fellow hobbits and we will publish them.

The address is well-known: Just scribble editors@brambleburygazette.com on the envelope and they will arrive right here. Folding them into a little kite and letting them fly out of your window is not recommended at this time!

NOT like this!!:

Keep up your good spirits, better times are on their way!

Peppy.
