Yule is near, and what better way to celebrate than meet yer fellow hobbits and greet the festive season welcome? The Grand Order is happy ter invite our friends over to our kin hall Sunday December 14th. We'll put up our Yule tree, have some mulled wine and enjoy some Yule music!
After the Yule tree ceremony, we are happy to invite everyone inside for a relaxing cup tea (with a splash of brandy for the cold) and tales of mathoms! Our historians will show some of the mathoms on display in Songburrow Hall. In addition to this, we also offer the opportunity for our guests to bring some of their own favourite old objects to the tea, for comments and value appraisal.
Do yer have an old, dusty shield hanging on yer wall? An old book yer are curious about? Have yer sometimes pondered if there weren't something more to that old dishcloth yer inherited from yer parents? Do yer think yer have THE club the Bullroarer uses during the battle of Greenfields? Just bring it to Songburrow Hall, tell us a little about it, and our local historians will study it and try uncover its secrets!
((OOC:
This will be a relaxed, non-scripted event, providing many opportunities to mingle and chat with other hobbits, celebrate the start of yule, as well as to learn something about mathoms. Don't be shy to bring your own items and a small description/story of it, and we'll see how many we can appraise during the night. Be prepared to show yer mathom and tell us a little about it, and we'll try our best to say what kind of object it really is.
Given the theme, this is a hobbit-preferred event. Welcome hobbits! ))
