Shrew infestation near Michel Delving

A letter sent in by Miss Tibba Stoutfoot. I am writing to you about an item of some importance:the increasing numbers of shrews around Michel Delving! Why, just last evening, during one of Miss Lina's wonderful performances at the marketplace of Michel Delving (she does sing most lovely!), a young hobbit among the audience mentioned hearing about an

infestation of shrews. I didn't pay much heed to it then,

I am afraid. But later on, when I was taking a little walk in the fields

just outside Michel Delving, I came to a meadow where I could barely walk without

stepping into a burrow or on one of these creatures. There were hundreds of them!

And if I hadn't hurried to get away, they surely would have attacked me!

Now, I do understand that the mayor has a lot of parties to attend, but this

shrew business cannot go on.

Something has to be done! Perhaps your Gazette can help bring the shrew problem to

the attention of the authorities?

At your service, Tibba Stoutfoot.

Ed.: We can only hope the mayor will read this and take measures against this

plague. Once again, a local authority as in a Deputy Mayor or local Shirriff of

Bramblebury, would be needed to put more weight behind the request for action in

this matter. All they've done so far is send some youngsters on a "quest" to kill

a few. But with the rate at which these creatures procreate, this is hardly

adequate!
