Well, the leaves are starting to turn, the nights are getting chilly and the fish are feeding up for the winter. An excellent time for pond fishing. And where better than the ponds up in Overhill?

As in previous autumns, the Shire Angling Club will be hosting a fine fishing match where the focus will be on Catfish. We have fixed the date with the residents of Overhill for the first day of Blotmath (that’s 22 October) at seven and a half bells in the afternoon.

((19:30 UK time, 2:30 pm Servertime))

And, as usual there will be grand prizes to be won, catfish on the grill and lots of fun.

No need to register! Just turn up with your fishing rod and plenty of bait. If you’re serious about catfish, some nice smelly bait: cut up old sausage or fat wriggly worms.

What: Fishing match

Where: Overhill ponds

When: 22 October at 7:30 pm ((UK time))
