Help us with the Hobbity Yule Calendar 2023!

By Pycella Woodberry

It’s time to start working on our Yule calendar!

For the past six years, hobbits, dwarves, elves and men in Middle-earth have gathered their merry forces to bring the Hobbity Yule Calendar together. Each year, the calendar brings people joy and helps them get into the cheerful, worriless holiday mood. It is a communal effort where everyone can contribute and help spread some Yule cheer.

The calendar reveals one surprise each day from 1st until 24th December, ending with the magical  hobbit Yule drawing. All these years, the calendar has been really beloved, and we hope that we can make it happen this year as well. For that, we need your help!

How can I help with the hobbity Yule calendar?

You don’t have to be a LOTRO player to help out – all hobbity yule entries are welcome! Here are some examples for entries:

A Yule-themed picture, LOTRO screenshot, slideshow, drawing, or a video made by you

A Yule poem, story, or a song

An introduction to a local Yule tradition you’d like to share to other hobbits

    Your favourite Yule recipe

    Yule decoration ideas, riddles, games…

Feel free to get creative! Each entry is valuable. You can also send more than one entry.

Let the Quickpost deliver your entries to pycellawoodberry(a)gmail.com. There is no set deadline for sending these entries, but do try to send your entries as early as you can preferably before December, so that the calendar preparations can be made in time. There are usually spots to fill during December too, but it makes organizing easier if you send the materials early.

The calendar will be published here.

This years communal entry: other yule (advent) calendars!

It can be anything – chocolate calendar, biscuit calendar, beer calendar, bath (?) calendar, anything works! You can send several pictures or just one.

When you send the photos, you can tell a bit about the calendar in them and its background if you wish, we might use it in the video as well.
