Fed Poets' Society Meeting July 2024

by Aerinbard Fallohide

“Surprise is key in all art.”

― Oscar Niemeyer

They say life is what happens when you had other plans. Well I certainly had a lesson in life and art (not to mention friendship and joy!) last Fed Poets' meeting when The May King and Queen arrived and took the reins, and I found myself in the middle of a “Welcome Back Aerinbard!” surprise party instead!

I was completely shocked and deeply, deeply touched. Thank you all who made that happen!

This month we will (again!) meet in Michel Delving by the statue of Marcho and Blanco and from there take a short walk to a quiet yet (hopefully) inspiring location. There we will share a picnic and our poetry! We will also explore taking the next step in establishing a writing practice: creating a writing space!

This month's suggested theme is : Surprise! - Think of a time you were surprised and write a poem about it!

The device we will try to employ is: Personification: a person, animal, or object regarded as representing or embodying a quality, concept, or thing.

If you would like to try your hand at writing, or if you have a favourite poem to share, or you would just like to sit back and listen, join the Fed Poets' Society Meeting THURSDAY, July 11th at 7:30pm ((UK Time, 2:30pm Servertime )). Share a hearty bite to eat and a feast of words!

If the weather proves uncooperative, we can retire to the Bird and Baby.

See you there!
