Fed Poets' Society August meeting
By Aerinbard Fallohide
“Life is a Balance of holding on, and letting go.”
-Rumi
Even as a young lad, I was enamored of old things. It was all my parents could do to keep me from climbing over all the various ruins that dot the Shire. I am afraid they were not very successful!
My favourite spot in those days was the tumble of ancient wall down by the Bridgefields. I especially liked to hop from one segment of wall to the other, across the river. Yes, a very silly tween thing to do! But it taught me two very important lessons:
One: that a good sense of Balance can save your life!
And Two: How...cough...interesting one smells after mucking out the Budgeford pig sties after my father found out!
This month The Fed Poets' Society will meet in Wood Hall Village for a wander along the woods and (much safer!) ridges there.
The Theme (suggested by Master Nhomo and rather appropriate to the location!) is :
Balance!
The literary device for this month will be:
Alliteration : the use of a sequence of words that begin with the same letter or sound for a poetical or whimsical effect.
If there is time, we may also try some Poetry Games, while the weather is fine!
Write your own poem, or bring a poem you love. And enjoy a bite or three to eat among your fellow poets!
