As you have seen on our Hobbit Calendar, Bullroarer Took Day is due this month. And it will be celebrated in glorious hobbit style, just like the previous years. Part of the celebrations is to honour the Bullroarer, that great hero of the Battle of the Greenfields, in word and song. Therefore we call upon our readers to enter a poetry competition!
So get out your empty sheets of paper, sharpen your quill, dip it in ink and write us a poem about Bullroarer Took and/or the Battle of the Greenfields. Be they short or long or even epic, we'd like to hear them on the night we celebrate Bullroarer Took Day.
To enter the competition, just send your name to the editors of the Bramblebury Gazette stating your intention to enter your own poem and make sure you are in Brockenborings on March 17th. You'll be asked to read out your work before the gathered audience.
We need to plan the evening a bit so we would like to hear from you by March 15 at the latest.
More information about the other aspects of the celebration will be given soon.
((OOC
The Bullroarer Took Day event is an in character hobbit-preferred role playing event, but people of other races are welcome to visit. They are also invited to enter the poetry competition.
Similarities with St.Patrick's Day customs are totally coincidental. Or are they? ))
