by Simbo Rumblebelly. Every day, when you ride home to your homestead in The Shire, you see him patiently standing there, whatever the weather, ready to help out any young hobbit in search of their own home. Yes, where would we be without Andy Brockhouse to sort out our burrows? To thank him for this sterling work, a surprise Birthday party is being organised for Andy on the 16th September. There will much in the way of food and drink (Andy himself is said to be particular keen on ales, and has been known to bring his own homebrew to work) as well as music and dancing to brighten his day. There may also be a number of entertaining activities to celebrate the homesteads too:

If you have a song to sing, music to play, or a poem to recite, do bring it along!

Details

Location: Andy Brockhouse's stall, Michel Delving, The Shire

Date: Sunday 16th September

Time: 7:30pm UK Time / 2:30pm Server Time

Brewing Competition

No need to enter in advance. Just turn up on the day with your brew and enter then. All entrants will be asked, in turn, to provide information on the following:

1) The name of the Ale

2) Any special ingredients you used to make it

3) What it tastes like

4) What food it best goes with

The judges will "taste" all the ales, and then decide a winner.

Riddle/Treasure Hunt

Five riddles will be given out, each of which will have the name of a homestead as the answer. The contestants will have to visit a particular burrow (given along with the riddle) at the homestead, and find out who lives there, or maybe a particular item in the garden. The first hobbit to come back with all the answers wins!

Pony Race

This will just a one-lap race around the outside of a particular homestead. First past the post wins!

Other Activities

Music

Dancing

Poetry

Fireworks

Do say in advance if you have a tune to play, or a poem to recite!

((Do note this is a hobbit-preferred event, as Andy Brockhouse is very wary of tall folk poking about in the homesteads, although he is quite friendly with dwarves, especially when it comes to discussing the brewing of ales))
