With Saelo’s guidance and with some luck, Hobbits passed through the big part of Windfells without facing any trouble. However, there was a never-ending wind blowing from each sides while they were walking. Hence why they decided to take a shelter in Seradan’s encampment in return of some food, which gave them enough protection to sleep and rest.
