We are well on the way to make Bullroarer Took Day an event for all to enjoy!
Join us on March 17th in Brockenborings!
Most things are not set in stone yet, some are. First of all: it will take place again in Brockenborings at the foot of Bullroarer's statue, on Tuesday March 17th. Starting time is 19:00 ((UK time, 3pm servertime))
And tradition has it that we wear green clothes! Come dressed in any other colour and you'll likely be made fun of!
If you don't have green dyes, I'd advise you to visit the Hobbit Market on March 9 or 10. If they can't help you out then send a polite message to Master Freddi who is willing to share some of his green dyes with you.
We have three bands that will perform for you:
The Greenbrambles who have been entertaining us on Bullroarer Took Day as long as we can remember. They will be there again with songs and music to tap your toes to.
The Missin' Mugs will perform next. A slightly different genre, but they will have you dancing all through their set! And they'll bring a very special guest, a VSG (also known as a VIP).
Closing off the evening is a band aptly called the Bullroarers. Last year they had themselves replaced by a band of Goblins, which was ofcourse an atrocity on a day celebrating the defeat of the Goblins by many Hobbits, including Bullroarer Took. Make sure to stack up on some rotten fruit and snowballs in case they (meaning these goblins) have the audacity to try their evil tricks again. But never use these items on the proper Bullroarers band!
What else do we want to present you with? In previous years we have asked poets to be inspired by the events surrounding Bullroarer Took. It has always proven hard to lure them out of hiding, but they can contribute so much to Bullroarer Took Day. Else if you have a song for the occasion but no band, you are equally welcome to sign up. After all, song lyrics are nothing other than poetry set to music!
Poets and solitary (or duo-) musicians can sign up preferably by sending a letter to the editors of the Gazette, and also on the night itself, but that makes it a bit harder to fit you in the schedule. But I know that somethimes inspiration comes almost on the day itself, so we want to give you that option as well. Talk to me, Peppy, to sign up but please not during the performance of the Greenbrambles of which I am a member. We do not need more bands, but there is always an option for an open stage at the end of the evening.
((OOC
The date is not incidental: Bullroarer Took Day is the in-game version of St.Patricksday! Therefore please wear green outfits either performing or just visiting.
We'd love to hear songs, stories or poems about Bullroarer Took and the Battle of the Greenfields. For your choice of music we'd love to hear Irish music or any other folk music. It's all up to you, but those are the preferences.
It will be a Hobbit preferred roleplaying event, but members of other races are welcome to observe our culture. Just don't block the view of those shorter than yourself.))
