Spring continues to unfold in all its colourful –if sometimes soggy–brilliance across the Shire. Inspiration is abundant for poets with a quick pen!
The Fed Poets' Society will meet April 9th at 7:30pm ((UK Time)) at the Stock Stable Master for a short ride over the Brandywine Bridge into Buckland.
We will pack our essentials and find a tranquil spot to feast and share our poems!
Theme: What makes a home?
The Literary Device we will try is: Polyptoton—The use of two or more words that, though different, share the same root. The words “bare and barely” have the same root, as do “drift and drifting.” By using different forms of the same word, the writer can suggest an evolving relationship between those words. The sea, which drifts, brings drifting wreckage. Polyptoton provides contrast and emphasis.
Try your hand at a Polyptoton poem, or bring one by your favourite author!
