A cat and a dog, and a little green frog

Were sitting atop of a tree

The dog gave a bark, and said "It's now dark"

"Now what will I have for my tea?"

It gnawed on a leaf that tasted of beef

Whilst the cat ate a twig with a spoon

The frog gave a sigh, and leapt to the sky

And stuck out its tongue at the moon

The cat sat and purred, whilst watching a bird

Which played a small drum with its wings

The frog said "How cute!", and pulled out a lute

And they all got together to sing

They sang of the stars, that shone from afar

Until they fell down to Earth in the snow

And swept by the breeze, they painted the trees

And caused all the apples to grow

The cat stopped the song, when a lad came along

Who was whistling a tune on the path

The dog tried to hide, behind the cat's side

But the frog it just gave out a laugh

The lad stopped and stared, at the animals there

Which danced on their legs and their tails

He had a quick think, and then a quick drink

From a sack that he held full of ale

He then walked away, and was heard to say

"I can't really believe what I see!"

"A cat and a dog, and a little green frog"

"Are sitting atop of that tree!"
