Our other candidate for Shirriff, Master Merebald, has let us know, that unlike his brother he is very much still in the race for the job. Being a hobbit of few words but strong deeds, he sent us the following:
I am Merebald Shortfellow. I come from the big Shortfellow family. I've worked as a bounder for many years and am experienced. I've been waiting to get the chance to be sheriff. I also like cooking and fishing.
