Name of the law enforcement hobbit

Dear Master Byronbrand and Master Wiberic,

While reading articles about the upcoming election, I could not help noticing that in Bramblebury and in Oldfurlong different names are used for what I would in general terms call: the law enforcement hobbit.

Oldfurlong is getting ready to elect their "Deputy Sherriff" , while Bramblebury has a "Local Shirriff". Now, enhancing possible confusion, the Bramblebury Local Shirriff has appointed someone to help her in her duties, who is reffered to as her "Deputy" and called by the inhabitants the "Deputy Shirriff".

I am now calling upon you, the two Deputy Mayors, to help prevent confusion and decide, in consultation with Mayor Will Whitfoot and Second Shirriff Bodo Bunce ofcourse, upon a common term to indicate the law enforcement hobbit and his/her helpers.

With friendly regards,

Peppy Bristlebrush,

3 Wending Way,

Bramblebury.
