Mellam Hollytoes a Hobbit of Oldfurlong

Dear Hobbits of Oldfurlong, this letter is to introduce myself to you as I intend to put myself forward for the up and coming Deputy Shirriff's post.

Now some of you may know me as one of your neighbours in the Oldfurlong homestead, as I live at number 1 Chalk road. Others will know me from my visits to the Green Dragon on Fridays. I work in Michel Delving assisting Cotman Brown the metalsmith making and repairing tools.

It seems to me that all a hobbit requires from the Deputy Shirriff is a trust to do the right thing and keep the peace. In these uncertain times I assure the hobbits of Oldfurlong that they can trust me to do the right thing and keep the peace.

Now most hobbits I know like a quite life eating pies and drinking ale, and the right to work and play in peaceful surroundings. I will make sure that if you elect me as Deputy shirriff that they can do the above as they always have.

If you see me in the coming weeks before the election and have a question for me, do not be afraid to ask it. I will always welcome a chance to chat about things we hobbits hold dear.

Yours Sincerely,

Mellam Hollytoes
