Fed Poets' Society February Meeting
By Hermanniadoc
"Come gather 'round, people, wherever you roam
And admit that the waters around you have grown
And accept it that soon you'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth saving
And you better start swimmin' or you'll sink like a stone
For the times, they are a-changin'."
-Bob Dylan
While many of us Hobbits don't like swimming and we might not all be smart enough to reckon when we hear an allegory for that matter. But I guess we might all agree that the times they are indeed a-changin'.
Some might embrace changes and hope for the better, while others dread what might be coming as unceartainty is never a welcome thing if life is calm and comfy as it is.
This Month we will meet outside the Great Smials in Tuckburough, just South of Hobbiton. When all straglers have made their way we will go inside and get some tea and biscuits before adressing the matters at hand.
As it may be the last Fed Poets Society meeting held on Laurelin, we take an opportunity to share some memories of past meetings.
We will be discussing the future of the Society – including the possibility of extending its remit to cover a celebration of the spoken and written word – poetry, prose, song lyrics, drama etc.
And we want to pay tribute to our founder and good friend, Aerinbard Fallohide, who has been unable to join us recently but who we hope will be able to return when he is able and ready.
Please feel free to bring along tributes and memories whether they be in poetry, prose or song.
Date: THURSDAY, February 13th
Time: 7:30pm ((UK Time, 2:30pm Servertime))
Place: Great Smials, Tuckburough, The Shire
((OOC: The Poets will go on hiatus after this meeting untill we have settled on Meriadoc))
