By Aerinbard Fallohide We make out of the quarrel with
others, rhetoric, but of the quarrel with ourselves, poetry. -William Butler Yeats
Thank you to those who brought their
snippets and favourites to last month's get together! This month's theme is : The Sea The literary technique we will try to
employ is: Juxtaposion Juxtapositon: placing two unlike things next to one another in order to develop a comparison and further develop a mood, tone, attitude or atmosphere. The comparisons can surprise and form a very vivid world for the reader to explore. It can even connect two concepts that might otherwise seem separate. If you would like to try your hand at writing such a poem, or if you have a favourite sea poem you would like to share, or you would just like to sit back and listen to some poems, join us at the Fed Poets' Society Meeting THURSDAY, February 9 at 7:30pm (UK Time). Share a hearty bite to eat and a feast of words as we settle back in our comfy chairs. As time (and memory!) did not allow us to do so last time, we will discuss an inspirational out-trip where we might fill our inner wells with inspiring imagery. See you there! THURSDAY, February 9th (changed from Wednesday so not to conflict with Night of the Muses) 7:30pm ((UK Time)) #6 Harrow Road Elderglen, Shire Homesteads
