Readers may be interested in the results of the first Shire Angling Club Fishing Contest, held at Needlehole, as a part of the dwarfs' annual Harnkegger Games. Winners received a fine Fisher's Pack, a cash prize, Ponies and lots of Tasty Pies, presented jointly by the Club President, Ponso Pondhopper and Lord Kandral of Khuzd Belkul. Eighteen aspiring anglers took part (no mean feat keeping track of the catches!) and a total of three hundred and seventy-thee fish were caught, including twenty-nine Catfish and fifty-one Dace. (This should put paid to the rumours circulating that the river up at Needlehole was no longer worth fishing!)

Our heartiest congratulations to all who took part, but especially our three winners!
